Mijn huidige baas Kenny, die overigens in Houston in de Verenigde Staten zit, had al een paar keer gevraagd of hij mijn vertrek naaar mijn nieuwe baan nou al kon gaan aankondigen. Voor zoiets wordt altijd intern een mailtje rondgestuurd zodat de mensen waar de vertrekkende persoon mee werkt op de hoogte worden gesteld, en dat wilde Kenny een beetje bijtijds doen.
Ik vond het een beetje voorbarig omdat ik mijn officiele contract nog niet had getekend en omdat mijn vertrekdatum nog niet helemaal vast stond. Maar gisteren besloot Kenny in overleg met mij en mijn toekomstige baas om niet langer te wachten en vandaag heeft hij het volgende mailtje uitgestuurd:

I am pleased to announce that Willem van den Kerkhoff has been selected to a new role as Data Control Lead in Basara Gas. Willem brings a wealth of Capital Projects experience, knowledge and capability to this role, which will bring great value to the project team and Shell.
Willem started working for Shell as a contract database consultant in 1990 and joined Shell in 1998. Initially, he worked in database management and data warehousing, later moving into the Information Management area. He worked in various Capital Projects IM roles for over twelve years, working in projects in Sakhalin, Malaysia and the Philippines. Upon transferring back to Rijswijk in 2015, he has been working as a Business Analyst and IT Advisor for Engineering and Capital Projects.
The planned start date for Willem into his new role is April 28th, subject to completing all transfer documentation. The resourcing of his current job will be done in due course.
We will miss having Willem on our team and I want to sincerely thank him for all of the value he’s delivered in execution of the IM/KM Standards rollout across PTE, the framing of multiple value generating engineering automation activities, and the support to key stakeholders using the various IM/KM tools within some of the Capital Projects and across the Projects & Engineering organization.
